About Helen Parusel

I'm a Londoner living in Hamburg, Germany with my husband, daughter and rescue dog. After teaching English for many years, I concentrated on writing and my debut novel, A Mother's War. The book highlights a lesser known story of WW2 and is set in occupied Norway. I was a finalist for the 2024 debut award from The Romantic Novelist Association. My second book The Austrian Bride is set in 1938 and follows a mother and daughter's journey at the onset of war in Europe. My third book, The Last Bookshop In Prague tells of the citizens struggle to survive under the regime of 'The Butcher of Prague', the Nazi governor. I am currently writing my fourth book which takes place in France.
